Shoe Life & Rotation Planner

Turn weekly trail mileage, abrasive terrain and rotation size into a replacement planning range.

PLANNING RANGE12–20 weeks

Inspect grip, cushioning and upper hold; mileage is a planning signal, not a warranty.

What changes trail-shoe life

Rock abrasion, mud, runner mechanics, outsole compound, midsole foam and rotation all matter. One pair can lose technical grip while remaining useful on easy dry trails.

The result is deliberately a range, not a warranty. Inspect outsole rounding, uneven compression, upper hold and how the shoe behaves on its intended terrain.

Use the range as an inspection reminder

Enter total weekly trail mileage and the number of pairs sharing those miles. The estimate assumes the mileage is spread evenly across the rotation. If one pair handles most runs, use that pair's weekly mileage with a one-pair rotation instead.

A second pair spreads use over more calendar weeks; it does not establish that either shoe will last more total miles. Treat the output as a prompt to inspect grip, upper security and underfoot feel. Replace the planning estimate with actual observations when conditions or your mileage change.
